What Does the Assessment Involve?
Our NICE compliant ADHD assessment follows a structured, evidence-based process to ensure accuracy.
Step 1
Pre-Assessment Information Gathering
1. Parent Pack – A questionnaire for you to complete about your child’s developmental history, behaviours and challenges.
2. School Pack – A form for your child’s teacher to complete (if applicable) to provide insight into their behaviour in a classroom setting.
This information helps us build a full picture before the assessment begins.
Step 2
QbCheck – Objective ADHD Screening
Your child will complete a QbCheck, a computer-based test that objectively measures attention, impulsivity and activity levels. The results are compared to age-matched data, helping to support the clinical diagnosis.
Step 3
Clinical Interview with Parent or Carer (ACE Assessment)
You’ll have a structured interview with our Clinical Psychologist using the ADHD Child Evaluation (ACE) framework. This session explores your child’s attention, hyperactivity and impulsivity, as well as their day-to-day experiences. It is a 2 hour appointment, with 90 minutes spent with the parents or carers, plus 30 minutes with the child.
Step 4
Feedback & Written Report
Once the assessment is complete, we will:
✔ Provide an online feedback session to explain the findings.
✔ Deliver a detailed diagnostic report, outlining the results, diagnosis (if applicable) and tailored recommendations for home, school and further support.
